I grew up on F&F and NFS Underground 2 and haven’t looked back. Been obsessing over cars since I can remember. Had the opportunity to rent a 718 Cayman through Turo two years ago and it was a truly transformative experience. In the time since then I have bought and sold a Focus ST (fantastically fun, underrated), driven an M2 Comp, test driven a Camaro SS 1LE, moved to the fantastic driving heaven that is Reno, and taken in the opinions of the internet and friends on which cars are worth it and which will financially ruin me.
As I’m sure many of you reading this thread have been, I too have been watching the used car markets swings over the past couple years and I have recently entered into the bidding wars on BAT and C&B. My one rule has been: bid low, lose low. I’ve put in bids on more than 50 cars over the last 2 years, coming a bid or two short on a couple cars; including high bid on a reserve M2 whose market seems to have recently taken a nosedive and winning a horribly misrepresented 987.1 Boxster and subsequently entering a legal catfight to return it.
That leaves me to tell you all that I recently negotiated a high bid ($33,500) auction on C&B for a base 718 Boxster to $36k inclusive of fees. Time will tell if this was a good deal, but I just wanted to shout out to the world how excited I am to pick up my first ever Porsche. I’ll definitely be giving updates when I pick it up in a couple weeks.
