I never really tested honestly. I actually didn’t even know this backplate had the thermal stuff when I ordered it. It certainly transfers heat but I don’t know if it actually cools the internals efficiently or not.

Thanks for posting, I may carry my backplate over when I do my SSD swap soon from LCD to OLED.

Welcome! The only thing I didn’t do was actually screw it back in place, but it clipped perfectly so I don’t think there would be any issue using the appropriate screws.

Yeah the metal plate and thermal pad are dumb. I wish the backplate didn’t have them.

Yeah, I think I’ve decided I’m not gonna use my JSAUX backplate on the OLED, but I’m definitely gonna miss the large back paddles :(

your puprle back plate has the same heat/stress cracks at the corners of the metal plate. that is very common with the jsaux backplate. I just noticed them on my 512.

      Damn, I can’t unsee that now. 😂

That backplate gets REALLY effing hot. Almost too hot to touch. Like a fresh pop tart. I’m not surprised the plastic takes a beating there TBH.

That’s because it’s transferring heat from the internal plate to the plate in the shell so it’s transferring to the shell itself in a way the stock plate doesn’t
