it’s clapped, nobody with a brain would pay you more than 3000 for that regardless of M or not. Imo it’s not a desirable chassis…. especially with tasteless mods. Mileage and maintenance aside- the tackiness of what you chose to put on the car lowers value significantly especially for facebook marketplace. Maybe you can find an idiot teenager that doesn’t know any better and squeeze a decent amount out of him but again how many teenagers have 16 grand?

If you got money, just swap out the motor and put in a bt8/zf. It’ll be reliable and have lower weight for better handling.

Well I would never buy a car that looks like that regardless the miles. 9 times out of 10 a car that looks like that has been abused and not taken very good care of, plus the amount of money to make it look good again?

I’m not discounting what everyone else is saying (I kind of am tbh), but unless you have or currently do own one please stop parroting the internet. I don’t know the particular history of this car but I do know that if you do the preventative maintenance and don’t abuse her, she’ll likely be very reliable. First thing I’d do is a complete pre purchase inspection, then make sure you attend to the major areas of concern. Starting from the rear, drain, inspect and replace the diff fluid with the latest bmw spec. Smg change that to Redline 75/90. Rod bearings and Vanos line (I’d advise 5w/50 or 15w/50 redline not 10w/60 redline though as it’s viscosity is actually higher than 15w/50 at low temps). Throttle actuators although if/when they go you can still limp home and there’s no catastrophic damage. Consider replacing the fuel injectors and filter as well. I had mine inspected and wound up flushing the brake fluid and replacing a control arm bushing. Finally once you’ve attended to that, follow proper warmup procedures and then let every other internet expert do the worrying.

Can we see the inside? Everyone is shitting on you which I dont find particularly fair. Yes the carbon hood spoils it, but put the factory hood on and you’re square. Seems like you know a thing or two about the s85. Atleast you know you have it lol. Paint from 20 ft looks good, wheels look nice… that hood is just ouch.

But with that said, you should also know why a carbon hood makes it look like it’s been trashed. It’s not a popular or very appropriate mod for this kinda car. Also Imo.

If you’ve kept records of the maintenance, have maintenance all the way back till new, a story, and proof you havent (and nobody else) have done what we all first think about. Which is some kid bought something he didn’t know much about and now its mechanically worn. Then you’ll get a pretty penny for it.

How the car looks inside and out up close, with recipes, that is how you’ll get an accurate estimate on here. Hell without the hood, it might even be a good BAT car… who knows. Documents documents documents

If you have heavy pockets for maintenance sure. But you’d be better off getting a 2017+ F series bmw at least with the B48 engine. It’s much more reliable, Toyota has trust in those engines.

Only with a 100% maintenance BMW service book 🙂 … and for this money, there will be nothing like that, or it’s maintained by a „shop under a bridge“ which is sometimes more worse than being not maintained.

If You know your way around those V10 engines, know about the Bangle Butt Era of BMW and there Quirks, You are a BMW Tech and entusiast, sure go ahead!

Oh wait, You wouldn’t ask the Question in the first place, go and do some research first about the engine itself, and if You still really want it, make it Your 3rd Car in the Garage, have fun but keep the down time in mind if you won’t go in ball to the wall with everything at the the time.
    Just sayin’.
