If you are not familiar with streaming from your PC to your deck, here is a reminder that it is really helpful especially with very demanding games like Alam Wake 2 to be able to render in 800p or even super sampling it a bit to 1200p and watching it on the new OLED screen at its full high settings and ray tracing glory.
Is it possible to use Parsec ?
Does the Steamdeck use little power during streaming?
👁️👁️ It’s beautiful
Guys, do you stream via cable or wifi?
Is there any way to get rid of crushed blacks when streaming with Steam Link?
Not that I have found. Best to use moonlight
Is moonlight better than gamestream?
Moonlight is the client. Sunshine is a replacement for nvidias gamestream. But yes, it’s better.
If you mean is sunshine/moonlight better than steamlink, then yes x 100
That’s the way 🫡🫡
How do you do it?
I am using the built in steam remote play, it works pretty great so far, granted I do have a beefy wireless connection and my rig is straight into the router.
Dude, set up sunshine/moonlight, you’ll legit feel like it’s running native - no input latency at all (*by none I mean 2ms, way better than what steamlink is)
Awesome! How is the input lag/latency? Is there a noticeable delay?
If you have decent wifi and use moonlight/sunshine it plays literally one frame behind the game running on the PC.
I have my PC wired to a router which wires to another access point in my upstairs hallway that my steam deck connects to via WIFI from my bedroom and I can get a flat 60fps. I’ve beaten cuphead and sekiro like this. It’s honestly incredible
I honestly don’t feel any while playing Alan Wake 2. it’s perfect so far
Awesome, can‘t wait to stream all my games to the device in ultra settings ☺️
How long battery life bro
currently at 46% battery and still 4.5 hrs left according to the steam deck
I just got my main pc off wifi and back into Ethernet. And a new wifi 6 ap. Streaming is going to be great.
Really hope they add hdr support for streaming soon
Moonlight has hdr support and has much better latency
Yes, but not yet on SteamOS:
https://github.com/moonlight-stream/moonlight-qt/issues/1117better latency
technically yeah, but i’m not sure it’s perceptible streaming to a steam deck. moonlight used to have a huge advantage and that’s been mostly eroded to irrelevance. example
That’s a 2021 article, pretty sure Sunshine wasn’t widely used back then, only NVIDIA Gamestream
me too man!!!
Use sunshine+moonlight, it has HDR support. Not sure on SteamDeck but I’ve used HDR on my phone with that setup
Plz dont make me regret buying mine over the summer 😭
Does it stream hdr too? That’s what I’m really curious about.
Looks amazing!
Out of curiosity, how is the game? I’ve been debating grabbing the first and playing through but is it worth the effort to play the second?
