Any time I go to turn on the radio it cuts on for a few seconds showing the Mercedes logo and then it’ll cut it back off

Another thing to take note Is that I can hear the cd changer checking the cds but it won’t open up (the weird 6 cd fold out one) and I don’t know if that’s because the radio isn’t on or if that’s gone too

I’ve taken my trunk apart and unplugged my amp and tried it so see if there was any difference and there was, it cuts off faster when it’s not plugged in. I just want full go ahead before I blow 75 bucks on a new amp that ends up not being the problem

I just want my music 😭😂 Any help is appreciated

I think it’s a software issue. It happens to my 2006 S430 from time to time. I just let it do it’s thing and it turns back on after a few days and goes back to normal. One thing I have noticed is when I have the car off, but key turned, I can repeatedly hear the cd changer cycling or trying to cycle through cds. At first I thought it was the trunk lock trying to open/lock but I opened the trunk and followed the noise to the cd changer. I wanna look more into it but don’t want to mess the radio and have it end up worse.

See I’m in kinda the same boat except mine doesn’t boot up EVER. And for some reason the cd changer won’t pop out (Mines under the radio) and there is sadly little to no info on this stuff

yeah mines under the radio too, but i have a cd changer in the trunk so its kinda weird lol.
what DID work for me the first time i tried it was
take your car to a heavy car parking structure, turn it off for 15 minutes, then turn it on and wait for the radio to reset.
apparantly bein in the car park blocks some sort of connection with something and lets things boot up.
it worked for my radio, and clock but only temporarily. eventually it fixed itself

That car audio runs on a d2b fiber optic system. If the cd changer is acting up when this is happening (and no access to sentry scan tool) I would first bypass that or the sound amp if you think that the problem. Pretty sure if you google d2b Mercedes bypass the connector should come up.

1 check in vehicle to see which software version you are running. (somewhere in settings) 2. Call Mercedes to see if there are updates available and if so where to get them. 3. Update.

If still not working 4. Get a multimeter. 5. Start checking rear inputs on stereo to see if anything is not powered or has a low signal. 6. If it does follow to next point and test till you see what the source of the issue is. 7. If does not you just have to follow every wire back and keep testing at eacu connection point till you find the issue.

Sucks but that is why this type of issue costs so much to fix. It takes time and patience.

Good luck. You can also ask Mercedes while on the phone for step 2 to see if they will provide a wiring chart for the radio in the vehicle. Google is also your friend and be prepared to have 700 tabs open for this issue. I will say though once you find the issue and get it fixed it one of the most rewarding feelings on this planet.
