I desperately wanted one of these. I even put my name down with a deposit at my dealership. However with the aussie price coming in at 110k. There’s no way this will be anything shy of 80k in Canada. Couple that with Hyundai just promised to switch to NACS but this thing is still on CCS charger and there’s a class action lawsuit against Hyundai and that charger melting… I just had to cancel.

I want this car so bad but classic Hyundai and fires…

This is actually kinda cool and it fills a gap in the market. Probably won’t sell like crazy but it’s cool to see on the market as well as a step in the right direction for performance EV’s

Honestly I think the Ioniq 5 would be perfect if it was smaller physically. It could be basically an electric hot hatch

But it takes two minutes to fill up vs an hour to charge…and I literally don’t even need tk think about where to fill up, boom just go to the nearest gas station. Charging and EV requires me to seek out chargers and that requires effort

I just think range matters a lot less for fun cars. Plus at least the 5 N will have a full charge every day if you’ve got a garage

Electric cars are good for comfortable driving.

It is sad that we have to resort to fake engine sounds nowadays though.

Instead of just building a proper hot hatch like they made them in the 90s with proper, badass sound (for example Lupo GTI, Honda Civic, etc) we now have to resort to fake engine noise that sounds artifical as hell.

This is the world we live in nowadays. The best days are behind us. Fun cars are slowly but surely dying. Even proper, sporty ICE cars are way too quiet nowadays.

These new cars have no soul. It has all gone down the drain in favor of emission standards. I cannot even explain the dread and sadness I experience on a daily basis when it comes to this. Our world has gone to shit, folks.

I know this will get hate, but it’s the truth. Listen to any 90s hot hatch. They don’t sound like that anymore. It has all gone down the drain.
