How the heck do I turn it off for good?? (I’m not referring to the flash setting though that too would be nice) I don’t know what it’s called but this thing has ruined way too many photos and irreplaceable moments with its horrible altering of the photo. It’s always automatically on! And it only ruins pictures. Please help me. What is it called, and how do I turn it off? I’ve had enough of it.

Just turn it off. I’m pretty sure google can give you an answer quickly than ranting on Reddit.

How do you google something you don’t know the name of homie?? Apparently “how to turn off camera setting in top left corner” and all similar searches yield nothing…what do you know?

But you’d have known that if you read my “rant.”

It’s Night Mode, and it automatically turns on when the camera is exposed to a dark area or when you’re taking photos in the night

It’s supposed to light up the surroundings so that the photo can be made much clearer.

There is sadly, no way to permanently turn it off. It will automatically turn on, regardless IIRC

Night mode. Just go to settings > camera > preserve settings, and enable night mode. This will remember your night mode setting in-camera so that you can then turn it off, and it won’t turn back on until you enable it again in the camera.

I personally like night mode in low light. You just have to remember not to move while it’s capturing the light for however many seconds. Photos in low light look far better with than with it.
