Hello All,

I hope you are doing well. The rubber piece recently detached from the car. I’ve tried to reattach the part multiple times with no luck. Any advice? What’s the purpose? Can it be removed or replaced by DIY?

I appreciate any help you can provide.

I take mine off but I personally don’t care about all the plastic guards. If not a bunch of zip ties thorough the holes will hold it up if the plastic clips fell apart

It likely had fingers of the same material that go into the piece above it, which where guillotined off when you ran into the parking block that scratched the upper material (not judging, we’ve all been there). If you get a new piece, it should still have those, which serve as the attachment to the piece above, and should be fairly ‘simple’ to install.

So that would have a portion that clips on top of your bumper, as it is on the other side. It looks like it has broken off, so replacement is the only good solution here.

For the time being, cut it off.

A lot of people may disagree with this one but using one or two Tek screws or something similar will work great, just send one of those screws through the rubber and into the plastic and it’ll hold well. Just don’t over tighten it or you’ll rip through the plastic you’re screwing into. However I’d only do this if you can’t find a good spot to zip tie it up with.
