The reason why we are so much on the left of this graph is because we concede very few xg. Our defense has been rock solid.
If we can turn it up offensively without sacrificing that defensive solidity, we’ll be on for a real title challenge.
Hmmm. Very interesting for Totalhams
Their luck is finally running out
Spurs and Chelsea’s numbers heavily skewed by that game with 9 men tbf
They played 9 men Liverpool and 10 men Sheffield United so it should balance out.
Even before that game, the XGD rankings were similar.
I think I read that Liverpool’s xG is slightly bigger than ours but we have a far superior xGA vs them.
City vs Liverpool will be really interesting. I feel City could score a few against them (while Liverpool probably will too).
I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if it was another wild scoreline like the Chelsea City game… Maybe less so but a 2-2 wouldn’t surprise me at all
United have had some incredibly lucky wins this season - if they keep playing at this level they will genuinely end mid-table.
The underlying metrics such as this have shown for weeks that Spurs have been massively overrated and hyped, especially by the media. Their form was inevitably going to better match their actual performances—and now it has.
It’s so odd to me how much the media likes to hype spurs. Whether it’s conte or ange they get favorable views on their managers as well meanwhile arteta gets every touch line behavior or media comment dissected to the millionth degree
It’ll be interesting over this busy fixture season to see if teams like manu and sprs start falling off, and if chelsea start making some progress up the table.
It’s wild to me how long spurs have been able to perform like this because they have had strikers who outperform xg and goalkeepers who outperform expected ga and just fluff in between
