    Not sure I like the idea of consuming my car’s battery life to power my toaster.

    The big problem with V2G compared to stand alone storage is that you need chargers almost everywhere to make it practical.

    Also while the EV is parked at work, your home storage can be charged off your excess solar production and power your home & charge the EV overnight.

    Plus stationary ( home commercial, and Grid scale) can use much cheaper, less energy dense technologies like sodium ion and flow batteries.

    And we now have modular systems from several manufacturers which have basic systems that can be added to later that are affordable for most people. No EV required.

    By the time enough infrastructure could be setup to make V2G practical, there will likely be so much stationary storage online to where V2G wouldn’t be worth the hassle.

    And for homes, a manual transfer switch that plugs into the 240v outlet that all EVs should have is much cheaper and simpler than a costly bidirectional charger.
