2015 chrysler 200 3.6 140K miles

Coolant crossover tube started leaking. I ordered the improved replacement but while it was on its way i tried throwing some RTV high temp gasket on the edge where i could see it seeping/leaking through on the top. It held for a couple days. I think the rest of it let loose finally on the way into work this morning. The battery light on the dash came on mid drive and when i got parked i noticed a slight burning smell and some steam or smoke coming from the right corner of the hood. Couldnt find anything burning so assume it was coolant that hit something hot as it slowly went away.

Does anyone have any other ideas on what couldve caused the steam/smoke or the battery indicator to pop up?

And would i be able to drive it roughly 5 miles without going up in flames? lol

Thanks!
