This adds to the body of evidence that we’re a really good team (2nd or 3rd best). Problem is that man city is so far ahead. Stat wise and eye test wise. We’re probably not gonna win the league
With Eddie up front we were playing like a 10 man team, but it looks like Trossard finally won his spot and with him at 9 we looked much better. I think this team can compete with City. Sure, their attack is better but it looks like we’re playing better defensively and have more control over the games. This year 1st place might come down to 1 point difference and it’s not so clear to me who will end up on top
Good stats to spot play styles, but not very telling after 12 games really. One penalty can alter xG by 0.06 points (0.76/12), the sample size is too small. Not to mention different schedules and fixtures.
Most of the buildup stats we are doing 2nd behind city in. It’s really just xG, shots and shots on target we are struggling with. Suggests we need someone else more clinical on goal (or fewer injuries to Jesus).
