Really need to fix that NPxG unless we lose dumb points
I’d argue the opposite. Last season we averaged 2.3 goals per game, and yet the games that cost us the most were where we were open to a fast counter or a ball over the top and drew games we should have won (Liverpool and west ham away are the worst offenders for this) or lost games we should have at least drawn (eg Nottingham forest, conceding a goal from a turnover in midfield).
If we got a point from forest, and 3 each from Liverpool and West Ham, we would have been level with city on points at the end of the season. But unfortunately we were unable to control games, and it cost us a title. So personally I’m happy to see us slow up on going for chances and control the flow of games, because I believe the end result will be more points over the course of a season.
Couldn’t agree more
Unmatched field tilt 💪
Field tits are the best tits
we became pen merchants
I can’t believe how many we’ve gotten so far this season. 2 more than last season already.
It’s a result of our increased possession and control. When teams are constantly sitting deep, under pressure, they’re gonna be more likely to make an error in the box. Same reason why City always seem to get pens
It’s because Eddie Nketiah
And Vieira bro won a free kick from tripping himself lol
With us only having 1.5 more touches in the box, it’s probably more a result of randomness. If we had 10+ more, I could see it.
we are having 1.5 LESS touches in the box. it’s purely random
We also have Declan Rice england special boy, which probably makes refs more inclined to give us decisions
We were playing with the hardest team and our captain who is supposed to be creative is in bad form. Of course our chance creation is low
Our last game when we played bottom team and benching ode, we were up with 2 XG. There’s immediate improvement and can guarantee our next we would be 2 XG up again
When I see all these stats comparing us to last season all I see is consistency and playing at the same level. Pretty amazing how consistent we have been since the start of last season
Feels like this seasons starts are skewed by the sheffield game
I’d like to see the attacking stats for the first third of last season because our attack felt electrifying.
